Orthopedic Surgeon

Duties and Responsibilities: These surgeons treat patients with skeletal injuries and diseases. They utilize medical equipment  and tools effectively to avoid  any accidents. They educate patients about treatment procedures and they communicate with patients to see their medical history. Surgeons also assess patients health conditions and prescribe appropriate medications. They work with nurses, ER physicians and other hospital departments to ensure excellent patient care services.

Salary: $512,000 per year

Education: They may specialize in areas such as sports medicine or hand surgery. They require 8-9 years of post baccalaureate education, a doctor of medicine degree, and 4-5 year residency in a hospital. They also need a medical license, and a board certificate in orthopedic surgery

Demand for Profession: This career is physically demanding and requires hand dexterity and hand eye coordination.

I would like to be an orthopedic surgeon because that is one thing i have always wanted to be, some type of doctor or surgeon.

Ophthalmologist

Duties and Responsibilities: these doctors treat the illnesses, diseases, and conditions that affect the eye. They perform eye surgery and treat eye diseases. They also examine eyes and prescribe contact lenses or glasses.

Salary: $197,000 per year

Education: They are required to earn a medical degree. Ophthalmologist have to earn a 4 year bachelor's degree, complete four years of medical school. They have to complete 3-8 years of internships and residencies. Undergraduate programs include pre-med, biology, and chemistry.

Demand for this profession: the population of these doctors is predicted to grow because vision problems tend to occur frequently later in life.

Maybe i would because some do surgery and i want to be a surgeon, and these doctors do surgery for eyes.

The Neurosurgeon

Duties and Responsibilities: These surgeons do surgery on the brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nerves to remove tumors. They treat disorders of the nervous system.They also use surgery to relieve hydrocephalus, the abnormal buildup of cerebrospinal fluid in the brain. Brain surgeons may focus on the corrections of deformities and treatment of diseases of the spinal cord. They need to require an excellent hand and eye coordination and concentration.

Salary: $559,225 per year.

Education: Medical degree, they must complete four years of undergraduate school, also four years of medical school. Then they take 6-7 years of neurosurgical residency training. They also complete 42 months training in core clinical neurosurgery. They need to be licensed by the state; they have the option of a certificate by the american board of neurologic surgery.

Demand for profession: They are willing to do surgery on people and save their lives from the diseases or problems they have.

I think i would like to be one because i would like to do stuff that involve surgery.

Dermatologist

Duties and Responsibilities: A dermatologist is a physician who treats conditions related to skin. They may also treat disorders related to hair and nails. They spend a lot of time conducting consultations with patients as a first step to diagnoses and treatment plans. Dermatological screenings involve checking the body for visible symptoms, suspicious lesions, and potentially problematic areas. They may go over the skin with a light to see if there are any cancerous or precancerous moles.

Salary: $311,721 per year

Education: College courses for 2-4 years, medical school for 4 years, and dermatology school for 3 years.

Demand for profession: Educate patients in how to manage their condition and best care for their skin, hair, and nails.

No i don’t think i would like to be one because i already know what i want to be in the future.
