“When a deep injury is done us, we never recover until we forgive.”
This quote is saying that when we do something that affects us or other people the only way we will forget about it is by forgiving ourselves. When you do something to harm yourself or other people your conscience follows you and you always think about it. It’s something we can’t control but we can fix by forgiving ourselves. If you did something to someone else you have to forgive yourself first before saying something to the other person. Even if they are still not okay with what you did you know that you did the right thing. Forgiving is something that has to be done, because if you don’t forget you will live in anger and regret. For example, if you get in an argument with your mom and you know you did wrong in something you have to forgive yourself for that then apologize to your mom because you know you did something wrong. Even if your mom thinks that you did something bad you know that you went and apologized to her for what you did. When someone doesn’t forgive they always live in fear thinking that something will happen to them because of what they did. It’s like when we get a cut first it hurts but when we recover from it, we forget it and it’s gone.
