Duties and responsibilities: Dentists are doctors that specialize in oral health.They diagnose oral diseases and they interpret x-rays and diagnose diseases. They also monitor the growth and development of teeth and jaws. Dentists clean, fix, extract teeth, fit crowns, and provide anesthesia to dental procedures. They refer patients to specialists when required. They are responsible for maintaining patient’s records. They also manage budgets and maintain stocks of equipment. As a dentist their job is to restore and replace teeth.

Salary:$149,540 per year

Education: Bachelor’s degree prior to admission in dental school. Doctoral degree in dental medicine or dental surgery. They also need a license to be accepted as a dentist.

Demand for profession: Educate patients on how to take care of their teeth and prevent oral diseases. Perform research directed to improve oral health and developing new treating methods.
